At the beginning of May we posted an update that this was going to be a month of the culmination of efforts, and it has been. Some outcomes we expected while some new happenings continue to reaffirm our faith in how needed and embraced this project is. With all that has transpired, we’ve been pulled away from some of our desires to post updates and to unveil our new e-newsletter Global Rumblings.
We are however completely on track with our pilot project Elephant Sanctuary Brazil and we owe you, our faithful followers, an extended update. For now, we’ll just say that we are on our way, every day more events unfold and questions are answered. Our partnerships and network through Brazil is growing exponentially, our colleagues are working tirelessly, doing a tremendous amount of legwork in preparation for our arrival and soon to be ground breaking. When we deploy to Brazil we will continue working on sanctuary development, isolating elephants in the most desperate need and joining forces with a
continent wide movement for progressive change. While keeping the bigger picture in mind, we will also be training others with all that it takes to build sanctuary from the ground up. As many of you know, the issues that elephants face are a global crisis, Elephant Sanctuary Brazil is just the beginning. We will need more supporters, allies and partners to build the international network necessary to brighten the future for captive elephants around the globe. As we make headway and preparations for our impending move to Brazil, we are planning for the long haul. You can expect a complete commitment from us for 3-5 years to build, develop and train, but we’re ready to commit for whatever time is needed; we’ll be there every step of the way. We have a lot to do and a lot going on each day, we’ll be back with you very soon with more updates. These are truly very exciting days ahead, and we can’t wait to begin making a difference for elephants throughout South America, stay tuned!
