Maia prefers Yard 5. If not for the pond in Yard 4 (there are other ponds), her social nature, or the possibility of extra treats at the barn, she possibly would never leave 5.
When we saw Maia this morning, she was heading to the barn (presumably for treats). She never showed up. When we went to find her later, we were not at all surprised to see her in the first place we looked – in the pond. She clearly had become distracted along the way to the barn and needed a swim. She seemed pretty pleased with her choice, and, as always, we are happy when she is happy.
The photo is from her in the back of Yard 5. She seems so content with standing right along the shade line – it appears she needed a little bit of shade, but not too much shade. She found the perfect spot.

Beautiful Maia, she seems very content lately. She must have really wanted a swim if the lure of treats at the barn moved to second place. Love her.
