Maia Plays Accidental Hide and Seek

Most of our elephant residents will wait for us to find them at mealtime. Not Maia. When she hears the 4-wheelers driving around, she starts looking for us. This habit of hers can leave us going in circles while she follows behind us.

Recently, we saw her across the creek earlier in the day, so we started looking for her in that area. We drove around more than once and couldn’t find her. As we searched, we kept looking over our shoulders to see if she would pop up behind us. We joked about how, if anyone was watching, they would think we were paranoid.

After searching through one yard, we headed into another, continuing to keep an eye out  for Maia. Checking over our shoulders one more time, we saw Maia pop up on the road, looking for her dinner. Thankfully she is tolerant of our inability to find her as easily as she finds us.

It is very frustrating commenting on this Elephant as what ever you write is not acceptable. I may have to join another one who is not so picky and withdraw my support

I’m sorry you feel that way, but our comments don’t instantly post. They go through a spam filter and then wait to be approved. So comments that are posted late at night, or on weekends, take longer to get approved since our staff isn’t working and either Scott or myself (Kat) are the ones that go in and approve them for posting. It’s the only way to do it and protect the website, so I hope you understand.
