Maia is No Longer Our Fastest Elephant. Guess Who Is!

We’ve had many requests for a video comparing Bambi’s walking speed to our other elephants. Before Bambi’s arrival, Maia was our fastest elephant. We recently tried to film Bambi and Maia walking on opposite sides of the fence to demonstrate their different speeds.

It wasn’t very successful, so we tried again. As you can see, it still did not give us quite what you – or we – were envisioning. At least the video demonstrates just how much faster Bambi is, and we hope it makes you smile as well!

Happy Sunday.

RATS! I was hoping for a competitive “speed walk” sprint! Starting line and Finish line treats might help or a carrot on a stick might get them moving in sync. But then they would expect it every 5 minutes or stay at their own speeds . . . This vid was a witness to: “Today I will only go at my own speed, so I can eyeball the yard and plan my day . . . Whatever, let Bambi do her own thing! (Bet something interesting caught her attention, and she will tell me about it!) Hasta la vista!

Oh yes. Bambi is very speedy. She’s a good mover. I love that she now has room to stretch out and go! Thank you ESB.

This, secretly, just makes me think they are having a friendly race against each other, just for fun and they made up this important rule:
No losers, we’re all equal and all winners!

They won a ticket to the best place they could be at thanks to their ‘team animal/elephant lovers’!

    Love Bambi’s body language!
    Thanks for this video.

They ALWAYS make me smile, however fast of slowly they walk. At least they are no being prodded with bullhooks.

Ms Bambtastic is a sprinter. She walks more like an African than an Asian Ellie. Not surprising as Ethiopian runners have been known to win marathons.

Ms Maia likes to take her time. As one of my Auntie’s would call it, Ms Maia likes to “lollygag”. Nothing wrong with that, in Sanctuary EVERYONE’S a winner.

This made me smile, thank you.
    ❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?
