Maia is Blossoming

Maia seems to be opening herself up to the other elephants much more lately. While she still enjoys spending time on her own on occasion, she seems to take shorter walkabouts than she has in the past. She’s often seen with Guillermina and spends more time in proximity to Rana, Mara, and Bambi as well.

In this short video, you can see Maia spending time with Bambi around a small mud wallow. The two of them are side-by-side and very calm. This easygoing energy between the two of them is a nice evolution in their relationship.

Their greatest tool for healing is the other wounded elephants. Quite a lesson for us all for healing

Sometimes we just need to find a true good friend to help wake our senses to the possibilities of others around us. Thankful for Maia’s bonding with Guillermina. The Powerpuff Girls as a unit may have just been too uninteresting for Maia, even though Rana often tried to coax her in.

They look so cute with their matching trunk shenanigans, LOL It is so good to see Maia doing so well with and amongst the other elephants. I expect she has been and will be a great help to Guille as well.

Maia and Guille spending time at the mud wallow is beautiful to see. The calm, easy going body language reflects how their friendship is developing. So great for both of them. #sanctuaryheals 🐘🐘❤️
