Maia and Guille Continue To Bond

Maia and Guillermina seem to be very good for each other these days. The two of them have been spending time together on a regular basis and it’s nice to see our most active elephants roaming about the habitat as a pair; it gives them both the opportunity to celebrate the more energetic sides of themselves while allowing everyone else to remain morning sleepyheads.

Truly, the girls are walking all over. One minute, you’ll see them wandering near the east side of Yard 4, then shortly thereafter they have crossed half of the yard, followed by a trip to the pond and then back again. They appear to be going wherever, whenever. But no matter where they roam, they always remember when mealtime should be. If it’s only a few minutes “late”, they go looking for their delivery 4-wheeler and human. Some things, it seems, will never change.

Good for them it’s great to see those two bonding and feeling so much more comfortable with one another especially since Guille lost her mom she definitely needs this. I sure hope she’s doing better with that huge loss like humans it takes alot of time its not easy but shes got so many positive sisters and caregivers to help her. You are all so amazing for everything you do from those of you who are hands on to those behind the scenes we thank each and every one of you!

Ditto Elizabeth and John. And Pocha would be content. Such a lovely photo which I enlarged to be able to appreciate how close to each other they were, and the older and younger faces, the growing wrinkles on Maia and Guille looking right in to the camera. I think it’s “one of those photos”. It captures your sanctuary

Maia and Guille must have a language they share together on a very deep soul level. They both know deep loss and great love. Both are being watched over in the most magical ways!
