Last year, we offered a series on how to identify each elephant. We thought, since we have new followers AND a new member of the herd, we would provide some more information on each elephant every week, for the next six weeks. We’re starting today with Bambi.
From videos we share, you may already recognize her by her long, deep rumbles, and African-esque head waggles that happen when she’s really excited. Although Rana can rumble loudly at times, if you hear that sort of vocalization, there’s a good chance you are hearing Bambi. Like the rest of the girls, she is unique in so many ways – but these are some things you can look for if you want to learn how to tell her apart from the others.

SHE WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE RANA MARA & MAIA,! INFACT SHE WAS LIKE A BIG NEEDY PUPPY. DOING ANTICS. SHE SURE LATCHED INTO MARA WHO WAS VERY ILL AT THAT TIME AND STAYED VERY PROTECTIVEVAND CLOSE LIKE A NURSEMAID. BAMBI IS LOVELY CLEARLY NEVER HAD TOO MANY CLISE SISTERS TO HANG WITH. SHES A VERY HAPPY LADY SINCE HER ARRIVAL AT THE HEAVENLY JUNGLE!

January 24, 2023 at 12:26 amI learned of you guys at GSE during the very beginnings of Bambi’s rescue. I was mind blown, and completely hooked. Absolutely NEEDED to know how this sad and shy and bummed out gal could possibly come out of that awful cinderblock safety zone! I feel like a proud mom that she is the first in what will be an extremely charming and eye opening series. I can’t wait to ‘know’ how to recognize the other girls as well as you do! (I DO know Maia’s fuzzy head, but now there’s Guille to challenge the fuzz factor!!! hee hee) Thanks all you there at GSE and all my fellow supporters. xo

January 24, 2023 at 8:18 amI feel like I’ve gotten pretty good at distinguishing the elephants. I just want to say how grateful I am for GSE. I like to believe it’s a sanctuary for many of your followers, a sanctuary from the world and all the chaos and destructive forces.
