The rainy season is starting to come to a close, so we are in the magical time of year when everything is still super lush and green, but the skies are bright blue. It’s unbelievably gorgeous. Rather than seeking out shade, Rana has been spending a lot of time in the afternoon sun lately.
Ramba had kidney issues which we supplemented with coconut water, great for hydration. We’ve been using up our remaining stock with the girls. So with Rana standing in the hot sun, we called her over to the fence for some coconut water and a cooling bath. She was having a blast, so Kat tried to take some photos. Of course, Rana, being curious (like all elephants), kept walking over to Kat to see if Kat had more treats. She didn’t, but the entire bath consisted of Kat slowly inching along the fence and Rana slowly inching her trunk (and her feet) towards Kat looking for treats.
The photos – despite the gorgeous sky, gorgeous greenery, and gorgeous Rana – turned out to be a bit of a blooper reel of “just missed” perfect pictures. If you think you’ll enjoy a few more almost-perfect photos from Rana’s bath, head to our Instagram
