Guille’s Weight is Improving

Through no fault of her own, Guillermina arrived at sanctuary as a very round young lady, who would have fallen into the clinically obese category. But we knew from the moment we met her that, with her high energy level, sanctuary would be the perfect place to help her slim down and gain muscle, since a natural diet and a vast habitat to roam are ideal for building a healthy body.

As you can see in the image below (and in this video), she now has much more definition in her spine, hips, and shoulder blades (you can actually see them now). She is building muscle in her legs and chest, and when she steps down on her front legs, you can see they are more pronounced. When looking at Guille’s face, you can tell it’s getting slimmer. All of these things are signs that she’s moving in the right direction. While she still needs to develop more muscle on her frame, and lose a little more of her belly, she is definitely looking more like a healthy elephant should look.
