Guille’s Fun On a Hot Day

Today was a particularly warm day. Often, on the hotter days, the elephants might move a little more slowly at times – but that’s not always the case. Guillermina decided that she had tons of energy and was ready to show it off. Early in the morning, she crossed the yard quite quickly on the way to breakfast, though she did stop halfway there to make a lovely hay hat. 

After she’d finished her meal, she was ready to be active again. She went to the fence and presented her feet, hoping for some treatments (and treats), even though no one was doing any footwork at the time. Guille then went to the mud wallow and fully covered herself – spraying water, lying down, and getting very squishy. The other girls were still finishing their breakfasts, so Guillermina had the entire area to herself, which she seemed to enjoy; she was having a ball. it’s always fulfilling to see the elephants making use of the beautiful natural habitat to have as much fun, and as much of a normal day, as Guille had this morning.

    Another great report and Pictures of the Girls. I’m sooo happy for Guillermina she now knows she is “home” and gets to make decisions that are helpful to all. Love your postings and attention to details.

    She looks great, too. She may be the young whippersnapper ( I can almost hear some of the ladies of a more mature age thinking that LOL), but she also looks much more at ease and in comfort with herself, especially in this pic.
