Lady recently spent about 3 days in Yard 4, heading all the way toward the back and hanging out by the pond. While she was there, the other girls were together in Yard 5.
Yards 4 and 5 are roughly the same size, with 5 being slightly smaller and having the majority of its acreage across the creek. While both Maia and Rana will explore that area when they are in the mood, to our knowledge, Guille has not yet crossed the creek in that yard.
Because Guillermina still feels more comfortable on the near side of the creek, that gives her a little less space to roam about when the girls are all in Yard 5 together. As a result, she had more energy than she generally has. You could definitely see that when it was meal time, she was quicker to find her spot; when she was following others, she was faster and more boisterous.
We considered that she might not be burning off as much energy as she normally would when in Yard 4, so we opened up the smaller yards near the barn to give the girls access to that also. It’s nice to have options as to where to go and Guillermina has always felt at ease in the smaller yards. We left this area open to all of the girls sharing Yard 5 until they shifted back over into Yard 4 a few days later. Overall, it seemed to be a comfortable experience for all of them, and Guille appeared to have more places to concentrate her energy over the course of those few days.

Incredible!
I went back to Global Rumblings #3 as Nadia suggested with your podcasts. Amazing how much I thought I heard but missed when I listened to it again! Those nuances…
Are Jenny and Bunny still at sanctuary in Tennessee?
Again, thank you for all that you do!!!

May 5, 2023 at 6:10 amThat’s understandable as she’s still young and has more energy than the other firls. So glad she has them though. 💚
