The hot weather at sanctuary means that the elephants are spending lots of time in the ponds and mud wallows. Here, Rana is getting in some quality pond time when Guillermina walks by. While the girls often do spend time with each other, they also take plenty of moments to simply wander and graze – checking in on each other throughout the day. This was likely just a little morning hello from Guille, as she moved through the habitat to find a place to snack. Rana sniffs in her direction before moving her attention back to the water. It’s just a typical moment in an average day at Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.
