Giving Tuesday – Thanks To Our Community Of Supporters

To our Global Sanctuary for Elephants family,

Kat and I want to send a quick note to express our tremendous gratitude for donating to our Giving Tuesday room-to-roam challenge. With your generous contributions, we raised $76,959.22.

Team Rana raised the most funds, which is not too surprising as Rana is irresistibly adorable. 😉  We are looking forward to doing a special live video with Rana, which we will share across all of our social media platforms.

We are so lucky to be able to look into the eyes of these elephants every day, a privilege that many don’t get to experience. Looking into the eyes of an elephant is magical. Sometimes you feel nothing but joy. Other times, you feel as though they have peered into the deepest reaches of your soul, and sometimes it is as if all concept of time evaporates. When you catch the gaze of an elephant who has yet to know the meaning of sanctuary life, those waiting in the confined enclosures, the sensation is vastly different. Some elephants want you to feel their agony; others want to share nothing at all, looking through you into a void that is their survival bunker, and others let you see gratitude as they know that help is coming. For the African elephants waiting for permits to conclude, their time is near; their eyes will soon tell a new story. Thanks to your gift and effort to support our work in Brazil, we hope to open more space and a greater level of freedom to those waiting to let their inner spirit shine.

Thank you again for sharing your love to support these precious lives.

With gratitude, Kat and Scott
