Give New Life to Your Old Phone

Phones are vital to our work at the sanctuary. Staff and caregivers use them as a way to communicate with one another, document the elephants’ daily activities, provide visual and medical updates on wildlife, and capture stories and cute photos to share with you! But with the demands of our work and exposure to the elements, phones break often and are incredibly expensive to replace locally.

Your old phone can play a new role in helping us care for the beloved residents at Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.

How to Donate

We gladly accept any smartphone model with minor cosmetic damage as long as it’s in working condition. Though phone chargers are appreciated, they are not required.

Instructions:

  1. Contact your phone carrier (e.g., Verizon, T-Mobile) to request a phone “unlock.” This step is necessary to activate your phone with our cellular carrier in Brazil.
  2. Erase all personal data and remove any SIM or memory cards. If you’re not sure how to do that, you can contact your phone retailer for instructions, or we can clear it out once it’s received.
  3. Place the phone in a protective case or wrap it in bubble wrap and add a note with your name and email address so we can thank you for your contribution.
  4. Use a sturdy box or padded envelope and ship it to:
