Pocha and Guillermina are big fans of the 4-wheelers. Their reactions are those of excitement and positivity, and not fear or hesitation. The sight or sound of them is an excuse for a trumpet/vocalization party almost every time the vehicles come to and leave the barn area. In this video, Scott is putting some hay out in the habitat for the two and, when they notice the 4-wheeler in Yard 2, they quickly leave the barn and head that way.
The clip is a good demonstration of the two main speeds of Pocha and Guillermina – snoozing and almost running. Both girls move very quickly, even with their small movements when they are inside the barn. They aren’t moving in an aggressive way; they are just really fast with their motions – Guille more so than Pocha. We will work with her on shifting that a little bit, to try and help her become more aware of the space her body occupies and those around it.
But as you can see, when the girls decide they are ready to move – they have no problem getting where they want to go, and quickly.

My mom is getting dementia and I have been sharing updates on Pocha and Guillermina with her. She really lights up when I show her the videos and has been asking about the elephants…
