Maia & Lady spent some time hanging out along the fence yesterday afternoon. At dinnertime, they were still in the area, so Scott went to feed Maia and Lady near to each other while Shirlei went to feed Rana. Rana, hearing the four-wheelers, decided Shirlei was taking too long to deliver her food and went searching for her dinner. By the time Shirlei made her way to Rana (3 minutes later), Rana had already found Maia and Lady.
The three ate dinner near to each other along the fence and hung out together for a bit. Lady seemed very comfortable with both Maia and Rana nearby.
We are delighted to have a photo with all three girls to share, even if you can’t see everyone’s face. The photo is Rana in the back, Maia in the middle, and Lady in the foreground.

March 18, 2020 at 4:34 pmYour posts always uplifts my heart. It’s been a crazy time in this world and here in the U.S. I’ve seen an unbelievable spike of people looking stressed, fearful, and confessing that their emotional health is being challenged like never before. I’m trying to remain calm, follow expert advice, and take things one day at a time. But in the midst of all of this uncertainty I want you to know that reading your posts makes my heart smile. It allows me a mental break. Thank you for your part in making this world a better place for humans and animals alike. ?

March 18, 2020 at 5:48 pmWell said, Rachel. Like most of you I get many emails but these emails I welcome most of all as they give us the love we need from Global Sanctuary so we in turn can give back, I welcome all the emails pouring into my mailbox when they come with news of our beloved elephants and their caregivers.
And isn’t it wonderful to see the three of them in the same picture?

March 19, 2020 at 6:46 amWhile we humans are practicing social distancing it’s great to hear that our girls are getting close!
With the state of the world as it is right now, I find peace and serenity in reading these blogs……..a place I wish to visit often for hope and much joy and a break from the uncertainty we are all facing.
I pray that all will be well for Mara’s transport as the time draws nearer.
Love to all and be safe everyone!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
