Quick live with Bambi before they begin driving again. She is sleepy but doing well. Last night she rested well once they stopped. The team hopes to arrive late afternoon today if all goes well.
Scott also addresses a story that Bambi knows one of the other girls. The reality is we always receive numerous stories about the elephants knowing another elephant, but none with any factual supportive information. When Rana was coming, someone who said they were from the circus said that Rana had spent time with Maia and Guida, and they didn’t get along because Rana bit the end of Maia’s tail off. This is something we deal with every rescue. So please don’t give any merit to these stories and don’t put that sort of expectation on Bambi. Just let everything unfold as it does, and support her just for that.
Power is out, but we hope to have the generators set up for her arrival if it does not return. Thanks for being here and following along and making this possible. Visit her Rescue Page for additional information, photos, and map

September 26, 2020 at 11:47 amI am so excited that the journey is nearing its end. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing Bambi to sanctuary. She has had, like many captive elephants, a miserable, abusive life. Now she will know freedom. This is really the beginning of her journey, she will now begin to find herself. Bless you for making this happen.

September 26, 2020 at 12:57 pmAnd we all know there will be a big pile of lovely dirt to take her first nap in Sanctuary when she can sleep as long a she pleases then take her time exploring and eating whatever and whenever she chooses. Then that lovely bit when she realises that are other elephants around. All in her own good time.
