Carnaval (or Carnival), frequently celebrated as Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday in English-speaking countries, is a huge celebration annually in South America – especially Brazil.
Karissa and Chrissy are continuing to look for ways to enrich and enhance the lives of the #Mendoza4 while training them in behaviors needed to be transported to Sanctuary. As such, they threw the elephants a little party for Carnaval.
While Carnaval (and Mardi Gras) looks very different this year for the humans, the elephants had a blast! Watch until the end to see Kenya and Tamy enjoying their treats too!
Happy Mardi Gras! Bom carnaval para você! Feliz Carnaval! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

February 16, 2021 at 6:06 pmThe Mendoza 4 are quite an interesting group of individual personalities. Time to get them all to GSE pronto! It breaks my heart to see Guillermina and Pocha peeking over the rock wall with their trunks reaching over . . . as if they are looking for assurance, and for help to escape their confinement, that blocks their views. They appear very sweet, I am at least happy that they have each other enduring this life of imprisonment . . . After the Mardi Gras festivities, I bet they sensed something is up, and they all may be free very soon.

February 16, 2021 at 7:13 pmI love them all, but I am so glad to see Kenya and Tamy. They are all so precious. I can’t wait until the time when we can go back for Kenya, and then, someday, go back for Tamy, too.
Happy Carnaval to all!!
