Once again, Maia the “pond blob” has returned! We all know how much Maia loves to laze in the water, and here she’s taking full advantage of the pond in Yard 5, completely submerging and floating on her side. She rolls from left to right, eventually finding just the right spot to cool off and relax. 

Soon, Bambi joins Maia in the pond. Bambi’s not always as interested in getting fully soaked, but she’s almost always game to get her belly wet. She even sits down here, squishing her bottom into the muddy bank. Not content to let fun happen without her, Guille quickly heads into the water, where Bambi is waiting.. Guille refuses to be distracted by Bambi’s tactics and starts splashing her trunk excitedly in the water, almost like a little kid. 

Eventually, Guille decides to drop down in the water up to her neck and scoots backward into Maia, who is clearly in the relaxation zone and doesn’t respond. The three elephants settle in with their rear ends together until Bambi, who seems pretty spunky, starts wrestling with Guille a little more, putting her trunk on Guille’s back. Bambi’s got great energy and knows that Guille is a lively playmate; Guille, for her part, seems much more interested in continuing to splash than anything else. 

After a few moments, Guille starts squishing her head into Maia’s side. Maia doesn’t really respond, but eventually backs up into her two silly friends. Maia and Guille keep leaning into each other while Bambi just seems to be standing and relaxing, finally settling down from the excitement. It was truly one of the best pond parties we’ve seen in a long time. It was lovely to witness the three girls’ comfort with each other and how their bonds have developed over time.
