Bambi’s Muddy Mornings

While the elephants have ponds and other water sources, they seem to have some extra love for the mud wallows lately. There are several spread throughout the habitat, so the girls can stop for a splash and a good coating if they’re feeling particularly hot or dry. 

Bambi has made herself at home in the smallest of all the mud wallows. She’s been coming for mud baths almost every morning after breakfast by herself. The others usually join her later, but she seems to be relishing her new morning routine, splashing and squishing in the mud and water.

    Hmmmm…… the look on her face is almost indescribable. But then how would I know how it feels to be an elephant in a mud wallow!

    Lovely! Did she know she was being filmed and so stopped flicking it, a great big cool lump on her head though!

      they almost always know they are being filmed, although she’s generally not as camera shy as Lady. 😉
