The pond can be a spot to relax or a place to play–and sometimes both happen at the same time. Here, Maia was the first to submerge, and you can see that she’s in full pond-blob mode. Shortly after Maia started to relax, Guillermina joined her in the water and the two of them were making silly blowing noises and Guille was splashing her trunk around. Bambi didn’t seem in the mood for a swim and appeared more interested in watching over her friends as they had a good soak.

Eventually, Guille opted to let Maia have her space to bob and float and she got out of the water, making what almost sounds like a growl as she lifted herself out of the water. (We suspect she may have been clearing the water from her trunk.) Maia was happy to stay for another 15 minutes or so–and we’re pretty sure she took a quick nap in the process.
