Bambi had a small training session this morning. During the treatment, she seemed to be bothered by the insects surrounding her. The caregivers got some bug spray to help her out, but she didn’t seem particularly interested in that. After her session, Bambi immediately went to the mud wallow to have a good splash, getting as dirty as possible with the wet dirt. Perhaps she was more interested in getting rid of the bugs in the “elephant way,” by covering herself in mud.

September 20, 2023 at 3:06 pmShe may not like the smell of the bug spray or whatever oil you guys use. Nature is usually best.

September 20, 2023 at 3:12 pmIf you watched the video of the bug spray being applied, you can see that she’s happy with it. But we just do what the elephants want and if she wants mud, she gets mud. 😊
