Baby’s Pond Play

It took Baby a little while to get completely comfortable wading through the pond, but now she’s become an old pro when it comes to splashing and spraying. The pond is getting more water tight, as Baby’s footsteps and movements are compacting the mud underneath, which slows water from seeping out of the pool and into the soil. 

Right now, one side of the pond is a little deeper than the other, but in this case Baby appears more interested in wading in the shallower water, kicking and stirring things up with her trunk. Sometimes her visits are short, like this one, and sometimes she stays longer, but she’s definitely settling in and making the place her own.

    It’s a beautiful thing to see Baby living a happy carefree life at sanctuary. She loves water.

    It makes me so happy to see Baby enjoying the pond, twirling her trunk and blowing bubbles. I think I have watched this video ten times now 😊 She really is enjoying her new life ❤️

    In the water she stopped and she circled her trunk for a short bit and then she also swing it back-and-forth and then once she got out, she did that again and swing it back-and-forth. What is the purpose of this? Is that just some sort of play? It’s great to see her enjoying the water..
