During her first morning at sanctuary, Baby leaves the barn and starts to explore her habitat. She’s had a couple of mini explorations this morning, stepping out of the barn and back in again, which is just perfect. She’s tired from her trip, but acclimating very well, and in her curiosity, she’s starting to learn what life is like at Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.
We will post more on Baby soon. Thank you for following along.
P.S.: If you’d like to be part of Baby’s New Beginning, send her a Welcome Home Basket or become her EleGuardian.

June 21, 2026 at 3:16 pmIs she used to contact with her other caregivers, are people? She seems to want to be close to you. But she’s a brave one. She’s just right out there going for it. I’m so happy for her. I can’t wait till she realizes this is her life from now on. But the most exciting part will be her meeting the other ladies. But all in the right time. Thanks again you guys for all you do.

June 21, 2026 at 4:43 pmShe had one caregiver that she was particularly close with, but so far she’s been fine with her care team but not overly affectionate.

June 24, 2026 at 12:39 amAbsolutely beautiful! We are grateful for your work @Global Sanctuary for Elephants. Scott and Kate.. we love and respect you.
I dream of an educated world 🌎
My heart goes out to Lucy at Edmonton Valley Zoo, Mikayo in Japan, every elephant performing in zoos USA. The pain in my heart is there daily balanced by the great news like Baby!
My love to the ladies past and present 🎁.
