While the pond in Yard 4 has a gentle incline and is shallow along the edges, the pond in Yard 5 has one side where it gets deep very quickly. Kat and Scott were recently heading to the barn, and, along the way, they drove past the pond in Yard 5. Maia was standing up in the pond, with her head poking out. Mara and Rana were standing along the edge of the pond. Due to the steep slope, Maia’s head was level with Mara & Rana’s feet.
Kat and Scott, only catching an initial glance as they drove past, had to stop and back up to giggle at how silly it looked. It was a pretty amusing perspective – we describe Maia in many ways, but tiny is not usually one of them!
We don’t know if Rana & Mara ended up joining Maia in the pond as Kat & Scott went on their way to not interfere with wherever the moment was heading.
Photo of Maia, looking her size.

September 6, 2020 at 4:09 pmThat’s a great idea, Barb. And the names all of the girls who’ve been rescued by GES on the back with rescue dates. They would look wonderful the color of the beautiful blue sky in most of these pics.

Makes you feel so humble and small compared to such a sweet gentle giant animal.
Love her expression. It is a mixture between something goofy and something like:
“this pond bath is making me feel so zzzzzzen!”
Or something like that 🙂
Adorable. Of course.

Must be hard for a big girl to hide away. She wants to have wonderful bathing sessions. Marvelous story will be fun to watch in real-time. ??????
