A Very Muddy Rana

When it was time for breakfast, Scott and the caregivers went down to the habitat to find the elephants. They came across Rana and Mara almost immediately. As you can see, Scott found Rana in a delightfully dirty state, having clearly been finding any way possible to cake mud onto her body. When we say that rainy days make for spunky elephants, you can see the evidence of that right here.

All of the girls had their produce and hay, and Rana and Mara wandered off together, perhaps to meet up with Bambi. We’re not sure if they found more mud, since Rana was slightly cleaner at dinner time. Still, Rana showed us evidence that she’d been enjoying sanctuary life to its fullest today.

Oh, my goodness!! That girl did a whole lot of rolling and jiggling to get such a fine, thick crust on her. She should be very proud and happy!

Wow! She obviously spent quite a bit of time on her muddy suit. She even has it in her beautiful eye lashes. Good job, Rana! You get a prize for muddiest princess of the day.
