This morning Maia, Bambi, and Guillermina were relaxing together in Yard 1 after breakfast. A short time later, it started to rain heavily, and Maia and Guille quickly walked straight to the pond in Yard 5 (which was also open to them) and got in. Guille was extra exuberant, sucking water up in her trunk and throwing it in the air.
By this point, Bambi realized she was alone in Yard 1 and started calling, so Maia climbed out of the pond and walked over to the fence near where Bambi was standing. She and Bambi were touching trunks and bodies, which seemed to comfort Bambi. After that, she walked away and started munching some grass in Yard 1 again, content that her friends were there if she needed them.

March 30, 2025 at 9:25 amWhy was Bambi kept from the pond?
Kat Blais says
March 30, 2025 at 11:26 amShe’s not kept from the pond, she chooses at times not to go in it and that choice is respected by us and her sisters. Maia and Guille are more playful at times so they go off and play a bit while Bambi grazes and does her own thing.
