Ok, time to play a little catch-up. Ramba and the team have just left the airport and are starting her 2-3 day journey towards Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.
Ramba is doing really well. She was a little wide-eyed during landing, but was calm and even took a nap during the flight. We included some photos of the plane in the slideshow, for those who are curious- it’s a gorgeous plane.
Updates from now on will be sporadic, mostly due to the team not having service on significant sections of the drive. For those receiving text messages, if you do not want to be woken up by a text message at 2 am, please shut your ringer off. It may be the only opportunity to connect.
We do not have power at the sanctuary, but we have internet. For those that remember Rana’s arrival, we didn’t have electricity then either. We already have a generator set up down at the barn in case we need it when Ramba gets here (for internet, so we can do live feeds.)
But everything is good, and Ramba did as well as we could have hoped. She is a strong grandma. Please, for those of you that are nervous, try and channel that into sending her positive and strong thoughts for the trip. Our sanctuary family has made it possible for her to get to Brazil, and you can continue to lift her up along the way. So pray, send energy, positive thoughts, whatever you desire. Ramba is coming home!!!

October 16, 2019 at 10:04 amI don’t care what time if the morning I get texts. It was 3.32am this morning.
I love that she is wearing her fashionable hats in her crate. Love her. We’ve been sending positive green lights to surround Ramba, Scott, Laura and all the team. On all of the journey. .

October 16, 2019 at 10:52 amThis precious girl has no idea the paradise that awaits her! Scott, Kat there is not enough thanks in the universe to send to you for what you are doing for these elephants. It never ceases to amaze me how compassionate and kind and calm and perfectly extraordinary you are – and then to share this lifetime event with all of us. I am humbled and in awe. Ad all this done on very little sleep if any! I have every confidence that Ramba is treated with the utmost respect and care every second. That will be her life now. That is just who you are. Am I nervous? Not a bit but I am excited and tearful and live for the moment her foot steps in sanctuary even though I will be a sobbing mess. Bless you always and love you all so much.
